If you want security in a place without Wi-Fi, this Runofast 4G LTE cellular security camera is a perfect option as it will work independently of any external networks. Now, I would like to mention this does REQUIRE a subscription as it utilizes a cellular connection only. Moreover, it will not connect to Wi-Fi or any other external service. All that being said, if you are looking to set up a camera in an area that currently has internet/Wi-Fi, there are more fitting options that won’t incur added costs. However, if you are looking for a camera that you can set up almost anywhere, including areas where there is no internet access like a boat dock, a hunting blind, a campsite, a barn, a stored RV, and frankly anywhere that receives a cellular signal, this is an ideal option.
The data plan offered is actually surprisingly competitively priced for all levels. This is a big positive, as the SIM card comes pre-installed and, as I mentioned above, is required for the camera to work. Moreover, this is likely a tri-band SIM card that can essentially use three different carriers, allowing for good coverage in many locations, like in the woods. As of the time of writing this review, this came with a three-day data trial. I personally truly appreciate it when companies do this, as it gives you a chance to try a product and decide if you want to keep it, as they do offer returns. Last but not least, the data plans can be easily acquired within the iCam365 app. I really appreciate that you can pay via most major credit/debit cards or (if, like me, you’re cautious), you can use PayPal.
The customer service chat button available in the app is based in China; as such, if you post a message, you will get a response in English overnight (usually around 3-4 am). Despite the extended time for a response, any of the questions I inquired about were answered fully and ended satisfactorily.
The picture quality is good on a mobile phone screen and offers two options (HD and FHD) that can be changed remotely. You can also turn the microphone on or off or adjust both the speaker and microphone volumes of the camera. However, if you plan on using the microphone, please check your local laws, as some states make it illegal to record audio. Beyond audio and video, this also offers AI powered human detection. This helps prevent false alarms and highlights what caused the alarm trigger. It can be turned on or off remotely as well.
As for recording, this offers motion detection or continuous recording, but for continuous recording, certain requirements must be met. For motion activation, it can run for quite a few days, depending on how many times it is activated, whereas the continuous option requires quite a bit more power and will run for less than a day because of this. However, this offers pass-through charging, and if plugged into a power source, this can record continuously and is only limited by the SD card you choose, as this can utilize up to a 128 GB card, and essentially, this could easily be connected to a solar panel. If the card is almost full, the camera will delete the oldest footage and record from there in a loop (this is similar to a dashcam).
The size of the camera makes it super portable, as it easily fits in an average pocket, making it super easy to transport to and from remote locations. This is very helpful for times when you need to recharge it.
Now I do have one complaint. This product claims to have an IP65 rating, however, this was proven highly inaccurate immediately (for a visual, see my pictures). The problem here is that the back, where all the controls and card locations are, has multiple openings that will definitely allow sawdust-sized particles and water inside with absolutely no protection at all. Now, obviously, utilizing a plastic bag and some tape can remedy this, but as a reviewer of products, I cannot let this slide, especially since it is advertised with such a high IP rating. If I had to guess its rating in its out-of-the-box state, I would say it’s an IP30. It is protected from small objects but not protected from moisture. As such, this is the reason for the loss of a star.
Overall, beyond the mislabeled IP rating, I found this to be a very feature-packed, portable, and highly versatile security camera that offers competitively priced service plans. Obviously, it’s best suited for specific situations due to its reliance on 4G and required cost, but if your situation requires such a camera, I definitely recommend this Runofast camera.

One last VERY IMPORTANT DETAIL: there is a sticker attached to the camera that contains a QR code. Make sure you remove this from the camera (for security reasons) and keep it safely stored somewhere. You may even want to write down the ¡°MAC: numbers,¡± as this is how you connect the camera to your app.

This camera is a game changer for places with no WiFi. I love that it uses 4G LTE and doesn¡¯t need a WiFi connection to work. There is a small monthly fee for the data, but it¡¯s totally worth it for the convenience. The 2K video quality is excellent, and it¡¯s easy to set up and use. The radar motion sensor picks up activity right away, and the battery life is solid. It¡¯s been a great solution for monitoring my remote cabin without any issues. Highly recommend it!
